The Canon EOS 600D is a really nice step up if you want something more capable than a phone but still easy to use. It’s a solid DSLR with great image quality, simple automatic modes for beginners, and the option to learn manual settings as you get more confident. The flip-out screen makes it easy to shoot from creative angles or record video, and because it uses Canon’s EF and EF-S lenses you can add anything from wide-angle to big zoom lenses later on.
